The School of Life: Envy

Very exaggerated example of envy:

Uses of envy:

I watched the "Uses of envy" several times now because I it amazes me how it changed my perspective on this subject. I don't think I'm an envious person, not that I've met/heard of that many people that I could actually envy something, guess I'm too young for that, though there were times I really wished I possessed traits that extroverts do.
But the first time I clicked the video I was really worried that it would tell me that envy is a bad thing and that maybe I shouldn't have those feelings, because I feel like that's what society tells us. But no.

The school of life suggests envy is a very helpful emotion that we should listen to, and that we should pursue and get inspired by things we're envious of. It's kind of a no-brainer in the case of introversion/extroversion, but what do you guys think about this regarding other life scenarios?

All emotions are there to guide us and should be 'listened to'.
